MATCH REPORT | LEIGH CENTURIONS
Bradford Bulls were defeated by league leaders Leigh Centurions on Sunday Afternoon.
Mark Dunning was handed an early blow, as star back rower Chester Butler couldn’t continue in the warmup and was replaced by Joe Burton.
Leigh turned on the style early, showing their class as they scored three tries early on.
John Asiata was the first to crash over, before Tom Amone did the same, with Aaron Smith following up with his own soon after.
In a half where Bradford couldn’t really get going, they were limited to chances on the Leigh line, as Thomas Doyle went close, but couldn’t ground the ball in the only real clear-cut opportunity.
Krisnan Inu, then off the back of a break snook over before half time to extend the Centurions lead.
After the interval, the scoring continued for Leigh, as John Asiata crashed over for his second of the game, before the only home try of the game.
Samy Kibula improved and slipped a kick in behind the Leigh defence, with top scorer Kieran Gill touching down.
In what was a fierce encounter for large parts of the game, with some huge hits between the sides, Bradford once again tested the Leigh defence, but couldn’t find a way through as a Patton kick found its way into Aekins’ hands.
Leigh, soon retook control as forward Kai O’Donnell grabbed two tries in quick succession, but was then taken from the field as a precaution and is making a full recovery.
Three more tries followed to round off a miserable afternoon for Bradford, with Krisnan Inu completing his hat-trick, as Edwin Ipape barged his way over for a try in between the two Inu scores.
